Who we are
We are the Reformed Church in Hungary (RCH), and our English website address is: www.reforamtus.hu/english. We maintain our online services in accordance with European and Hungarian information privacy laws. We have had long-standing policies and procedures to protect your personal data in compliance with GDPR.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
The RCH gathers data about individuals that is publicly available, freely provided by that individual, or obtains direct consent for its collection. In European Union data protection and privacy law, personal data is anything that can be used to identify an individual. This includes (but is not limited to) names, date of birth, email addresses, photographs, and passport information.
How We Use Your Data
Your personal data is always treated as confidential. We only collect what we need to carry out our programmatic work and meet legal obligations. These are registration procedures for international conferences and visits organized by RCH, sending you our email newsletter and facilitating twinning partnership for local congregations.
We only share personal data with third parties with your consent, in clearly limited cases. These exclusively applies to the process of organising events you participate in, to sending eNewsletters you subscribed to, or to the process of identifying twinning partners on your request.
In all other cases our general data protection rule applies: we never sell, share, or use your personal data for marketing or commercial purposes, and we generally don’t share any data with third parties except with your consent in the above mentioned cases of event organisation, newsletter subscription and twinning procedure.
Who is eligible to access to your data
All data which you provided us is stored on the servers of RCH, with a robust data protection system, and is only accessible for staff members of the Communication Service and the Ecumenical Office of RCH.
eNewsletter
Your e-mail address is used solely for the RCH communications and is not shared with anyone outside RCH’s Ecumenical Office and Communication Service. You have the right to update or delete your e-mail address from our system, as well as unsubscribe from our Newsletter.
Once you subscribed for our Newsletter, your e-mail address is stored in our own eNewsletter system, which has a highly robust data protection regime. We only store the e-mail address you have registered while subscribing to RCH’s Newsletter. In subscribing you are consent of receiving e-mail updates 1-3 times every 3 months.
Once you unsubscribe, your e-mail address will automatically be deleted from our system with immediate and final effect. Registering your name is optional. For storing and using your name the same strict data protection rules apply like in case of e-mail addresses.

eTwinning profile
We created our eTwinning profile in order to encourage and facilitate cooperation of our local communities/congregations to engage in direct partnership and cooperation with congregations of our partner churches.
We keep all submitted data confidential, store them on the servers of RCH as long as the twinning partner is identified, but no longer than 12 months. Data submitted and entrusted to us are solely accessible for the Ecumenical Office of RCH. We only share your data with the prospective twinning partner.
Cookies
Our websites use cookies—small bits of data stored on your computer, table, or smartphone—to make it easier for you to visit our website, especially if you move from page to page or come back multiple times. This information is confidential and we do not use it to identify you.
Analytics
We also collect data from our website about how people use the site, how long they stay, where they are coming from, and what pages they visit. We do not use this information to identify people and we do not share it. We also do not allow this data to be used to generate online advertising and it is retained for 12 months.
As you cannot have any account on this site, neither can you leave comments, we don’t hold data about you, which you would not have provided to us explicitly.
