The Lenten season is a time of great importance for Christians around the world. For the Reformed Church in Hungary the solemnness of Holy Week and celebration of Easter is reflected in the community's traditions.
The Hungarian Reformed Church Aid (HRCA) announced its Easter campaign for the collection of donations. The aim is to support four hundred families with non-perishable food packages in a value of 6000 Euros.
The Ecumenical Council of Churches in Hungary and the Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference issued a joint Easter message inviting Christians to celebrate life, in the light of the Ressurection, even in the shadow of the Pandemic.
"There is no greater joy than to know that life has conquered death," even in the shadow of the pandemic, reminds the Joint Easter message of the Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference and the Ecumenical Council of Churches in Hungary.
“Christianity is the religion of joy”, even against sadness and depression we are facing in these days. Bishops and Lay Presidents of the Hungarian Reformed Church sent out their Easter message to the congregations in seven countries embracing the joy that flows from the miracle of Christ’s death and resurrection.
