Churches Open in the Countryside

Local cogregations are invited to organize worship services with physical presence again

The Presidential Council, composed of the Bishops and Lay Presidents of the four Church Districts of RCH in its decree of May 11 recommends to congregations in the countryside to gradually return back to conventional community life, re-open churches and gather for worship services again.

“Supposed that the rules of social intercourse are not tightened by the competent authorities, depending to the decision of competent predisium of the congregation, in compliance with the hygiene and safety regulitions in force, worship services should be held, except for the territory of Budapest and the central region, Pest county. Where it is expected that worship sevices might be crowded, special services should be offered for those over 65 years."

The decision doesn't affect the previous guidelines for seasonal events, summer camps, conferences and larger meetings. These should not be organized in accordance with former instructions of the Council. The Council furthermore decided that the upcoming Synod meeting will not be cancelled and will take place in Debrecen on 11 June.
