Leadership of the Cistibiscan Church District Elected

The Electoral Commitee of the Cistibiscan Church Dirstict with headquarters in Miskolc announced the results of the ongoing elections. Rev. Dániel Pásztor, current deputy Bishop, has been elected as the new Bishop of the District. He will represent the District together with the newly elected Lay President, current lay deputy clerk, Dr. Pál Molnár.

According to the information shared by the the Electoral Commitee of the Cistibiscan Church Dirstict there has been two candidates running for the office of the Bishop. István Varga, local pastor in Tiszaújváros received 88 votes, while Dániel Pásztor, the current vice-Bishop received 205 votes. Dániel Pásztor follows József Csomós in the position who served three terms, altogether 18 years as ministerial head of the District.

The successor of Tibor Ábrám, Lay President of the Church District has also been elected by the congregations of the Northern-Eastern region. Ferenc Csernaburczky, Chied Elder of the Borsod Presbytery received 137 votes, while the current deputy Lay President of the Church District gained 156 votes.

The new presidium of the District will enter office on 1th January 2021.
