The Bishop of the Reformed Church in Transcarpathia was elected as president of the regional ecumenical and interreligious organisation in Western-Ukraine.
At their Council meeting on 26 August leaders of the Transcarpathian churches and religious communities unanimously elected the bishop of the Transcarpathian Reformed Church, head of the Hungarian reformed community as president of the organisation. The previous chairman of the council was Vasily Rajchinec, high bishop of the Association of Evangelical Free Churches in Ukraine.
"One of our primary tasks is to make the council stronger," said Sándor Zán Fábián in an interview in Ukranian. "Instead of material values, we need to keep spiritual values in mind and set an example for members of our larger community."
