Due to the war in Ukraine, human lives are at risk, people lack basic supplies and have been forced to leave their homes. IDPs have reached the Western part of Ukraine and refugees are arriving to Hungary in growing numbers. The Hungarian Reformed Church Aid has been providing emergency response from the first day. Gratitude to the translators and interpreters (09:11)
Hungarian Translators and Interpreters Day is held on 22 march. The Reformed Church in Hungary and its Charity, the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid have been supported by lay and professional interpreters who have provided and continue to provide assistance in the context of the refugee crisis. With their help, the care and navigation of refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine has become smoother.
New donation point in Budapest (11:19)
The staff of the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid is waiting for donations at a new donation point, next to the theatre „Víg”, in Ditrói Mór Street. At the new warehouse in Budapest, in-kind donations can be delivered between 3 and 7 PM on weekdays: small hygiene products: shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, baby care products, hand sanitiser, cleaning products, non-perishable food: canned food, savoury and sweet products, products for immediate consumption by babies and young children, instant meals, vitamins, blankets

Katalin Novák, the Goodwill Ambassador of the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid visited border villages. She also helped to feed refugees fleeing the war, and tried to alleviate the trauma of the children with games and crafts.
Seven tonnes of aid offered by the Hungarian reformed community in Somora, Slovakia (16:24)
On march 21, the reformed parish of Somorja took about seven tons of donations to Transcarpathia to support the reformed congregations of Técső and Ráho, as well as the Hungarian Reformed Lyceum in Técső. The reformed Presbytery of Bratislava (Slovakia), the Transdanubian Reformed Church District (Hungary) and the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid helped to collect and deliver the donations. The Somorja congregation expressed special thanks to the Honvéd-ter reformed parish of Szeged and Naturtex company for their donations. In their Facebook post, they also wrote about what they experienced in Transcarpathia. What they experienced strengthened their commitment to continue collecting donations. The communities in Transcarpathia are straining to help the war refugees, while air strikes are a daily occurrence, and there is growing confusion and alarm. "It is with love that we report that our brothers and sisters in Transcarpathia are counting on us and are engaged in a true evangelical struggle, responding to every gunshot and every threat with warm food and safe places to lie down," they wrote. They call on everyone to stand with the people of Transcarpathia in prayer, love and offering.
