The Presbyterian Church in Ireland (PCI) held its annual General Assembly in Belfast from 9–12 June, where delegates discussed the challenges, responsibilities and mission of the largest Protestant denomination on the island of Ireland. Alongside representatives of churches from Ireland and the United Kingdom, several international partner churches and ecumenical organisations were also present, including the Reformed Church in Hungary.
The Reformed community in Hungary mourns the passing of Ivan Patterson, former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, who for decades accompanied the life of Hungarian Reformed Christians with attentive care, genuine affection, and a servant-hearted presence. In its tribute, the Presbyterian Church in Ireland remembered Ivan Patterson as a wise leader, a gifted preacher, and a compassionate pastor.
