The Common Synod of the Hungarian Reformed Church met on the 13-14th July, 2023. During the two-day meeting, members of the Synod voted on the constitutional amendment and adopted the Hungarian Reformed National Strategy for the Carpathian Basin and the closing statement of the Synod.
"The Word of God tells us that God does not forget about His people." The Presidium of the General Convent, Bishops and Lay Presidents of the Church Districts of the Hungarian Reformed Church in the Carpathian Basin jointly issued Easter blessings.
On the tenth anniversary of the unity of the HRC, the Calvin Synod Conference of the UCC officially joined the HRC. In honor of this event, the Bishop of the Calvin Synod Conference, Rt. Rev. Dr. Csaba Krasznai, shared a letter of thanksgiving.
The Synod Council of the Reformed Christian Church in Slovakia and the Presidium of the General Convent issued statements in protest of a recent amendment criminalizing the playing of any national anthem other than the Slovak.
“Drafts are no longer being sent out, but compulsory military enlistment is reintroduced and our youth is dealing with great difficulties marching to war among Ukrainians,” stated Rev. Géza Kacsó on the current situation in Transcarpathia.
